Indian Rustom 1 UAV

India's Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE) has conducted 12 min test flight of the Rustom 1 unmanned air vehicle (UAV) successfully at a airfield in Hosur near Bangalore.

Rustom 1 UAV is developed by the Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE). Rustom 1 UAV is designed to have endurance of 12-15 hours and it can carry payloads of up to 75kg.


UAV is capable of flying at an altitude of 7,620m and is controlled by using datalink which is developed by India's Defence Electronics Applications Laboratory.

India also plans to develop medium altitude, long-endurance Rustom H UAV which will be capable of endurance of over 24 hours.
