Project 16A Brahmaputra Class Frigates of Indian Navy

INS Brahmaputra (F31) is a guided missile frigate of the Indian Navy.  It was commissioned on April 14, 2000 by the India.


Brahmaputra class frigate has a displacement of 3850 Tons and it is 125 metres long.
Project 16A Brahmaputra Class Frigates can carry Westland Sea King helicopter.
Brahmaputra class frigates carry sixteen 3M-24E (Kh-35 Uran) Anti-Ship Missiles which has a range of 130 km at 0.9 Mach, with a 145 kg warhead.

  1. Indian navy Brahmaputra class frigates shud carry 15/20 Brahmos missiles of 300kms range rather than(Kh-35 Uran) Anti-Ship Missiles which has a range of 130 km.
    A vertical luanched missile frigates like the chinese navy which deploys 30 missiles will be a better option for the indian navay.
