Indian Navy's INS Viraat (R22) aircraft carrier has capacity to carry upto 30 aircrafts including fighter jets and helicopters.


Indian Sea Harriers vertical/short takeoff and landing (V/STOL) fighter jet taking off from the  INS Viraat.

The Indian Navy has upgraded its Sea Harriers vertical/short takeoff and landing (V/STOL) with Israeli Elta EL/M-2032 radar and the Rafael 'Derby' Beyond Visual Range Air to Air Missile (BVRAAM).

Indian Aircraft Carrier INS Viraat can carry Sea Harrier FRS51, Kamov Ka-31 Airborne Early Warning helicopter, Sea King Mk. 42B and Kamov Ka-28 Helix-A for Anti submarine and Transport roles.
