India's Strategic Forces Command has successfully tested nuclear capable Prithvi II short-range ballistic missile from launch complex-3 of the Integrated Test Range at Chandipur at 9:15 a.m. (Indian Time). Prithvi II short-range ballistic missile has range of 350 kilometers and it can carry nuclear warhead of 1000 kgs.
Prithvi II short-range ballistic missile has been developed by Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) under India's prestigious IGMDP (Integrated Guided Missile Development Program). Indian officals has said, "The launch was part of a regular training exercise of SFC and was monitored by DRDO scientists".
