Indian air force has completed flight trials of competitors fighting to win the contract for 75 basic trainer aircrafts. Results of these tests have been sent to the defense ministry of India.
In next phase Indian defense ministry will start the negotiations with the aircraft manufactures biding for the deal.
Competitors include PZL-130 Orlik, Italian M-311, Brazilian EMB-314 Super Tucano, Grob G120TP, Korean KT-1, US T-6 and Pilatus PC-7.
India issued the request for proposal last year and is looking to purchase 75 basic trainer aircrafts to meet the immediate requirements and may build another 106 under license at HAL.
First 12 basic trainer aircrafts will be delivered by the manufacture within 24 months of signing the contract with Indian air force.
