Ever Growing List of Indo-US Defense Deals

India has purchased of 4 AN/TPQ-37(V)3  Firefinder Weapon Locating Systems (counter-battery artillery radar) at cost of  $200 million from the US company Raytheon in 2002 and all the 12 AN/TPQ-37(V)3 were delivered as early 2007.

USS Trenton (LPD-14) (Austin-class amphibious transport dock of the United States Navy) was purchased by the Indian Navy in 2006 and it was handed over to the Indian Navy on 17 January 2007 and it was renamed 'INS Jalashwa' . Indian Navy also purchased 6 H-3 Sea King utility transport helicopters. Whole deal was worth 92.5 $ million.

The Indian Air Force purchased six C-130J-30 "Super" Hercules turboprop military transport aircraft at cost of up to US$1.059 billion for its special operations forces and deal for additional six will be signed  C-130J-30 "Super" Hercules at cost of US$ 1.2 billion soon.

Indian Navy have ordered 12 P-8I Multimission Maritime Patrol and Anti-Submarine Warfare Aircraft at cost of US$3.1 billion to replace its aging Tupolev Tu-142M maritime surveillance aircrafts.

Indian Air Force will also order 22 AH-64D Block III Apache helicopters, 812 AGM-114L-3 HELLFIRE LONGBOW missiles, 542 AGM-114R-3 HELLFIRE II missiles, 245 STINGER Block I-92H missiles, 23 Modernized Target Acquisition Designation Sight/Pilot Night Vision Sensors at cost of $1.4 billion.

Indian Navy has also purchase 24 L-model Harpoon Block II anti-ship missiles at cost of $170 million to equip its equip its its Jaguar strike aircrafts and P-8I Neptune maritime patrol aircrafts.

India has ordered 99 F414-GE-INS6 power plant for its HAL Tejas Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) MKII version  at cost of $822 million. Deliveries are scheduled to start in 2013.

Indian air force signed a deal for 512 CBU-105 sensor fuzed weapons (SFWs) at cost of $257 million. CBU-105 SFW is a smart air-to-ground area weapon designed to defeat moving and fixed targets on land.

Indian Air Force (IAF) has selected the C-17 Globemaster III military transport aircraft as winner of its Very Heavy Lift Transport Aircraft competition to complement its Ilyushin Il-76 transporters. Indian Air Force will receive its its C-17 transport aircraft  in 2013-14. India has ordered 16 C-17 Globemaster III military transport aircrafts in a deal worth $6.5 billion.

Indian Army had plane purchase 145 M777 155 mm towed howitzer at cost of $647 million but procurement process was restarted last year and a new deal will be signed in near future.

Indian Army has also decided to purchase unknown number of FGM-148 Javelin fire-and-forget anti-tank guided missiles (ATGM) along with "transfer of technology''.
